Now do it with the 3-series...

Pretty sure it can do the same math, just not in the same amount of time...

The big one still works, but the small one is 1/20th the price and literally a million times faster.

Pretty sure you could buy the big one really cheap right now...

We could do this with decreasing engine size, increasing output over the same 25 years... but I get what you're saying.

Actually I don't know about that. The macbook air is run completely on flash based componentry, there are no moving parts! While the behemoth on the other hand probably has more moving parts than a rolex.

Well, Rolex's last a good while...

The museum may not be willing to part with it though.

Theres one in my attic...
25MHZ processor. 64 bits of ram (yes bits not bytes). Runs DOS. built before integrated floppy drives were a thing. Have an external floppy drive that's the size of the mac book...

But you can probably upgrade the RAM and HD in this one.

Just chipping in to say that my wife has a MacBook Air, and it's pretty nice.
Granted it should be for as much as we paid for it (but it's still probably massively cheaper than the old guy in the photo).

Just to point out, the cell phones are not real cell phones, they're a set of russian doll type replicas.

Well things made by master swiss craftsmen tend to last a bit longer than 40 year old experimental technology that never really worked too well to begin with.

You can upgrade the SSD in a MacBook Air.

Nope. It's a stick. ODC makes replacements, IIRC.

There it is! There is the truth I was looking for.
Actually, I was just being a dick just to be a dick and because I am bored, thank you for playing, your reward is nothing, because, I am a dick.

You're absolutely right. We could also do it with power/mpg, or reliability, or survival/injury rate in crashes.
Doesn't stop me yearning for when a heavy car weighed 1400kg (and a light one 800kg) :)

I honestly think that cars are going to get lighter as time goes on. Once carbon fiber becomes cheap to produce (among other materials), weights will come down. In 25 years, the new m3/4 will be that fat phone!

It might even be sooner than that. Just look at the MP4-12C and the 4C. Both massively reduced the price required to get a carbon car, the latter of which you might even consider to be 'affordable'.
